THE COLD WAR
From reading an edition of the Observer from the 1960s, I learned people were very worried about the Cold War. The Cold War was an ongoing political rivalry between the United States and the Soviet Union and their allies that came to be after World War II. The drive for the war was the fear of communism in the united states. Another driving force was the fear of the newfound technology of nuclear weapons. The name cold war comes from the fact there was no direct fighting between the united states and the soviet union.
