I have watched Teenage Dirtbag Wheatus and made it with a comic using ComicLife in class.
The story is about a Teenage Boy (teenage dirtbag) who wants to desperately fit in a school that doesn't accept him. He tries his best to just be like everyone else but no matter how hard he tries he just can manage to fit in. He is riding to school on his bike when he sees the most beautiful girl he has ever seen Noelle but the problem is he is a loser and she is the queen of the school. Another problem is the fact that she has a boyfriend who is a cool jock but isn't a nice guy and often pushes around the teenage boy. He tries everything to act cool and get to know Noelle but her boyfriend stands in the way. When he is eating lunch by himself Noelle's boyfriend throws food at him and then Noelle gets annoyed and storms off. The teenage boy thinks nothing of it. Then it comes to the school dance and everybody is having a great time and the band Wheatus is performing their own song. He is sitting alone not having a good time but then Noelle walks up to him holding two tickets to Iron Maiden and explains that she also is a teenage dirtbag. The teenage boy stands up and they dance to the song having a good time. Then suddenly the disco ball falls directly onto the teenage boys head. Then he wakes up on the staircase which was the beginning of his whole life-changing. Was it a dream.?.?.?
Very clear grasp of the narrative. You identify the main themes (like the need to belong, conform, be accepted) and the stereotypes of the high school (like the popular girl and the cool jock).
