Emmet comes across as an ordinary man who tries to fit in and be like everyone else. There is nothing special about emmet and that is why his role as the hero stands out to us because we all told our whole lives that to be a hero you have to have certain characteristics and be special whether emmet is not. Emmet is a very relatable character because of the fact that he is normal and because the majority of people are normal we can all see a part of ourselves in Emmet and they relate to the character.
This trailer would be very effective for promoting the movie because of how many different people it appeals to. There are jokes for the kids and the adults so a more broad audience wants to go see the movie and these are shown perfectly in the trailer.
7/10 You show good understanding of the fact that Emmet is represented as an ordinary person rather than a hero therefore ordinary children can relate to him. In a question like this, aim to go into more detail, for example by illustrating how much effort it takes him to do star jumps and how he needs a rule book to tell him what to do; how he admits to not being special.
ReplyDeleteFor the second question, you note the appeal of humour and the film's broad appeal but should give examples of what that appeal is, such as the action adventure tropes.
